Tom Ford FW25: A Masterclass in Controlled Chaos
Haider Ackermann was appointed Creative Director of Tom Ford in September 2024. He began the role immediately, with his first collection debut at Paris Fashion Week in March 2025 for the Autumn/Winter 25 season.

Tom Ford’s FW 2025 show hit the runway like the shadow of a storm: a monochrome midnight vibe, interrupted only by the sharp punctuation of a crimson lip (and a few pastel pieces). Tom Ford’s show wasn’t fashion; it was an announcement.
Grunge is officially BACK, if you think it never left. Although “dark thetas” have been on that train for a while, Ford’s grunge isn’t black hair and smeared eyeliner; it’s curated disarray. A silk blouse half-tucked into perfectly creased slacks. A trench coat, its collar swapped for supple brown leather. Ford is bringing grit into the boardroom, and we’re here for it.

The palette stayed mostly monochrome with its crisp whites, jet blacks, slate greys, but that pop of red and a few pastel looks? Unmissable.
Whether it was on the lips, splashed across a heel, or peeking through a satin lining, putting red in the mix was the moment. It was Ford whispering: ‘Don’t be afraid to stand out’.
Leather dominated; glossy, structured, unapologetic, pairing effortlessly with satin. Slacks slouched with purpose, trench coats swept with drama. The Tom Ford woman of 2025 is part assassin, part CEO, part rock star.
The overall effect? Grunge, grown up. A look that says: “I’m cool.” It’s messy, but it’s measured. Sexy, but cerebral. This season, Ford reminds us that power doesn’t shout. It smolders.
