Armani Privé SS26 Couture: A New Era
After taking on the role of head of the Armani house, Silvana Armani, the niece of the late fashion designer Giorgio Armani, made her debut couture show in Paris. Her debut marked the first Armani show since Giorgio Armani’s passing in September of 2025, leaving anticipation and an intimate feel as guests took their seats. Working behind the scenes for decades, Silvana allowed a new tone to blossom for Armani at the Privé’s Spring/Summer 2026 couture show on January 27, 2026. Before joining the company in 1980, Silvana had modeled for Armani and other designers. In the 80’s, she started her career as an apprentice designer for Armani and soon played a notable role in creating the Emilio Armani womenswear line, later becoming the head of Armani womenswear.

The collection, Jade, was inspired by the ancient yet enduring material, imbued with meanings tied to power, protection, and spirituality, and crafted over centuries. Jade is used for prehistoric tools, sculptures, and other artistic objects. Jade originated as a material for decorative carving among craftsmen in China, Europe, and Mesoamerica, where it was called piedra de yjada, "stone of the loins," and pierre l'ejade, which came to the French as "le jade," hence the current name, jade. Jade reached its peak as a significant artistic medium in China, where gem carving had long been a tradition. In Chinese culture, jade, known as yu, meaning "heavenly," is considered the stone of heaven. It largely symbolizes purity, virtue, and integrity, and is commonly believed to bring good luck and promote emotional healing. With its profound history and symbolic context, Silvana Armani translates the significance of Jade into Haute Coture reflecting youthfulness and serenity. Silvana’s debut Armani collection symbolized an emotional connection to her late uncle, Giorgio Armani, and marked a new phase for the Armani brand.
In soft shades of green, pink, and white, the Armani Privé 2026 collection presented a subtle harmony of shape, texture, and fluidity, with satins and silks creating a whimsical sense of movement and structure throughout. The structure is balanced by the delicate softness, revealing the unforgettable refinement in each piece.
“Light and shade, texture and form, weave together in a rhythmic composition where delicate jade tones, softened pinks, and luminous whites are contrasted by black accents, creating a dialogue of balance, depth, and clarity.” - Giorgio Armani Instagram
This collection embodied the utmost refinement in embroidery and garment construction. Each piece was tempered by movement and exquisitely intuitive attention to detail. The collection's architecture conveyed elegance through restraint, creating a serene and joyful show.
