2026 Trend Predictions

In today’s day and age in which fashion has become a very rapid cycle, constantly moving from microtrend to microtrend due to fast fashion and social media, the 2026 trends have already begun to slowly develop, and here are a couple of my favorites!

First are brooches. As we move on from the minimalistic clean girl aesthetic, jewelry has been getting chunkier, heavier, and generally more maximalist looking. While statement necklaces were all the rave in 2025, Pinterest’s 2026 trend report, “Pinterest Predicts” lists “brooched” as one of its predictions for 2026 fashion. Brooches make for a beautiful way to add some more personality and character to a simple outfit. I think my favorite part about this trend is that you can collect brooches from a variety of places such as your parents, grandparents, or vintage/thrift stores and if you eventually collect enough, you can stack a few of them on your outfit, they can be a conversation starter and tell a story! Not only can they add a touch of style to a look, but they can also be used to quickly cover up a quick stain or imperfections on a piece of clothing, so it’s always good to have a few handy.

NikeSKIMS Spring 2026 Collaboration Collection

Last but certainly not least is the expression of personal style at the gym, which I’ve heard many fashion influencers mention over and over. I love this one in particular because, to me, all athleisure looks relatively similar and quite boring. I hope to see mismatched items rather than matching sets, vintage pieces such as old tee shirts, and maybe even inspiration from 80s gymwear such as layered and colorful bodyconscious silhouettes. This trend has already been introduced through the popularity of Adidas gym shorts and track pants. Another indicator of this trend is the Nike x Skims collab. Nike, a popular athleisure brand, collaborating on pieces with Skims, a shapewear and clothing brand, shows how sportswear and the athletic clothing is slowly intersecting with other aspects of fashion. I’m so excited to see how these trends will play out!
