Fashion Forward Pieces to Brave the Winter

They weren’t kidding about the cold front, and now it’s 30 degrees, you have nothing to wear. You could just throw on a pair of sweatpants, a sweatshirt, and a puffer, but sometimes feeling good in a cute, fashionable look is all it takes to start the week off right. A quick Pinterest scroll can provide so many ideas. Sometimes the puffer is too bulky and takes away from the essence of the fit you’ve taken so much time to curate; replacing the puffer with a trench or pea coat can elevate your outfit to a whole other level. It’s chic while also doing the job of keeping you warm against the aggressive chill.

Secondly, pants can be such a limiting category. Factoring between jeans, sweatpants, and leggings can get tiring but, if you widen your scope there are so many pants that can become a quick staple for class or a fun night out. I find sometimes that jeans can get repetitive but there are so many fabrics to discover outside of denim. Pants such as one’s with a built in belt can be paired with a simple basic top creating a super chic look to head to your 9 am!

The weather in New Orleans is ever changing, one day it could be 40 degrees and the next day it can be a cool 68. I don’t own a lot of jackets and I feel stressed sometimes when my denim jacket doesn’t match the jeans I’m wearing. However, on those days where a jacket isn’t necessary a short sleeve sweater or knit offers a great chance to show up and show out in lecture. It’s comfortable and fashionable all at once and you’ll leave the dorm feeling like an off duty model!
